NEW WORK: Palm tree illustration for Biofilico

Earlier this year I created an artwork for biophilic home interiors project, now known as Casa Biofilico in Barcelona. The brief was to fill an empty wall in the main bedroom, where the client would transform an illustration into a wall decor by printing a wall vinyl, that can be easily removed eventually.

Watercolor illustration of a palm tree was turned into the vinyl wall sticker, that is an amazing and unconventional way to add a touch of nature to any interior. Size of the printed sticker is about 150 cm wide.

This palm tree was painted on Canson Cold press watercolor paper, this way the illustration has an extra layer of texture underneath the paint, if you take a closer look.

Part of the brief was to use the direction of earthy, calm, natural colors, that will compliment the color palette and natural textures of the interior. To match the amazing range of tropical greenery’s colors I like using paints from various brands of artist quality watercolors, including Sap Green from White Nights, Perylene Green from Schmincke and Undersea Green from Daniel Smith.
