This project involved creating a series of watercolor oyster shell illustrations for Bold Coast Spirits, inspired by Atlantic oysters used as an infusion ingredient within the brand’s coastal spirits collection.
The illustration direction focused on a naturalistic botanical approach with a lighter, more expressive hand rather than a strictly scientific rendering. The goal was to capture both the rugged exterior texture of the shells and the luminous interior surfaces that reveal soft iridescent tones.
The finished illustrations were developed as flexible visual assets for packaging and branded applications, helping communicate the spirit’s coastal identity and artisanal production process.
Hand-Painted Botanical Detail
