Wild Remedies
Botanical Illustration for Foraging Guide
I created botanical illustrations for Wild Remedies, a guide to medicinal and edible plants written by herbalists and wild food foragers. The project focused on clear, observational plant studies designed to help readers recognize and understand plants in their natural environment. Each illustration was carefully researched and hand-painted in watercolor, combining botanical accuracy with a natural, expressive style suited for educational publishing.

Botanical Plant Studies
Clear observational studies designed to support plant recognition and learning for readers interested in herbal medicine and wild food foraging.
Illustrations for Educational Publishing
The artwork was developed to work within the book’s educational format, helping explain botanical subjects in a way that is both informative and visually engaging.
Process
Every illustration begins with research and observation. I study the plant’s structure, color, and growth patterns before creating sketches and refining them into detailed watercolor paintings. From initial studies to final production-ready artwork, my process balances botanical accuracy with artistic expression.
I often collaborate with herbalists and wild food experts to ensure the illustrations reflect the plants faithfully. Once complete, the watercolor paintings are digitized and carefully prepared for print so they reproduce clearly in the book layout.
I create hand-painted botanical and food illustrations for nonfiction and educational publishing projects.
