Each element was painted with traditional media - watercolors on paper, digitized by me, the botanical illustrator, and delivered as separate elements to the design team for flexibility, which allows for realistic detail without losing the unique painted quality that makes the illustration so appealing.

I was commissioned by the authors of the Wild Remedies to create scientifically accurate botanical illustrations of medicinal plants and wild foods, that will include enough realistic detail for plant identification.

Wild Remedies: How to Forage Healing Foods and Craft Your Own Herbal Medicine is an action guide to becoming deeply connected to the natural world around you. It was published in 2020 by Hay House Publishing.

The book consists of 60+ full-page watercolor botanical illustrations and spot illustrations of medicinal plants, herbs, and wild foods, each with supporting descriptions, instructions for foraging, and recipes.

The brief required creating botanically accurate artwork, with identification guides inspired compositions, and with most plants showcasing growth stages (ex. buds, flowers, seeds). Illustrations were used for the publication and across websites and marketing.

Ivory has a unique heritage, being the oldest brand created by the P&G, founded in 1879. The brief called for images that were artistically hand-painted in traditional media.

This presented an opportunity to rely on the hand-painted look of watercolor painting, which allows for realistic detail without losing the unique painted quality that makes them so appealing.

I was commissioned to create watercolor artwork for the Body Wash line including: Water Lily, Coconut, Aloe, Lavender, Jojoba, Honey, Original and Fragrance-free.

I was commissioned to create custom botanical illustrations of garden flowers and vegetables in my signature watercolor botanical style. This was a dream project working with Florea - a modern garden brand from Sweden. Illustrations were created for use on seed packets, packaging and marketing.

I was hired by Wildcraft game creators to illustrate a new set of plant cards that would accurately represent the plants in the game. The new cards needed to follow the existing style and color palette. Since the game is intended for younger players (starting at 4 years old), one of the goals was to avoid including too much detail and realism.

Icons were created for each plant featured in Trouble Cards to teach plant uses on a food and first aid level, making it easier for young players to memorize plant attributes.
